Red Rocks Amphitheatre Economic and Fiscal Impact Fee Studies
Overview
In 2022, BBC conducted the first ever economic impact study of Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Red Rocks, as it is known locally, is renowned for its iconic setting and cultural significance, and plays a crucial role in the regional and statewide economies of Colorado. Beyond its impact as a premier concert venue, Red Rocks supports thousands of jobs in the Denver Metro Area (DMA), from ushers and stagehands to security and janitorial staff.
Visitor spending contributes significantly to labor income, economic output, and tax revenue for both the DMA and the State of Colorado. BBC’s report highlighted the substantial effects of out-of-state and out-of-region visitors, reflecting typical operations post-pandemic. The study revealed that Red Rocks' ability to attract global artists and visitors generates significant economic benefits and supports further investment in Denver’s arts and culture.
